After overcoming a few last-minute obstacles (because what’s a refurb without a little drama?), we’re so excited to say we’re open.

We do want to manage expectations - this is still an ongoing project, and there are more improvements to come. You’ll see changes happening week by week. Pop in for a drink, have a look around and see if you can spot what’s changed so far.

We will now be open 7 days a week and our temporary opening times will be:

Monday - Thursday: 4pm - 11pm

Friday: 4pm - 1am

Saturday: 11am - 12am

Sunday: 11am - 11pm

SET MENU

We are pleased to announce that we are now offering our Set Menu from Tuesday - Friday from 11am - 2pm. On Thursday it is also available from 5.00 - 8.30pm.

WELCOME TO THE CHAPEL INN

The Chapel Inn is a 2nd generation, vibrant, family run pub situated in the heart of Coggeshall, Essex. Our bar serves cask ales from our traditional Roman beer cellar alongside continental draught lager, a wide selection of Gins, spirits and fine wines. Our restaurant serves traditional pub classics, delicious handmade street food and seasonal weekly specials. We pride ourselves on using local suppliers to deliver the best experience possible and a warm welcome awaits both our regular locals and visitors to Coggeshall. The building is divided into 4 spaces; the front bar area, restaurant area, wood fire room and main bar area, which plays host to our iconic band nights, club in a pub, comedy shows, weekly quiz nights and everything in-between.

Upon entering The Chapel Inn, you’re greeted by a cosy and inviting interior that harmoniously combines tradition with contemporary touches. The original wooden beams showcase the pub’s heritage, and the walls are adorned with vintage photographs and artwork depicting the village’s history and local legends. Soft lighting and comfortable seating arrangements create an atmosphere of warmth and relaxation.

The centerpiece of the pub is its traditional wooden bar, where a wide array of local and regional ales, ciders, and spirits are on offer. Adjacent to the bar, a charming dining area offers a delightful setting for patrons to enjoy a delicious meal. The menu features a fusion of classic British pub fare and modern, locally inspired dishes. Using fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from nearby farms and markets, The Chapel Inn takes pride in offering a delightful culinary experience.
